Turning our attention to the rich musical heritage of our homeland, we included Simsim Algdarif (Sesame of AlGdarif), an old Sudanese folk ballad about love & affection. During the process of producing the cover track, we integrated more modern methods of composition and performance while simultaneously remaining true to the song’s original spirit, paying tribute to the older generations of Sudanese musicians/listeners, and concurrently introducing the younger generations to our abundant yet overlooked musical heritage.
